4 hurt in Magura election office attack

At least four people, including three policemen, were injured as miscreants attacked the local election office in the town on Sunday evening during the 72-hour rail-road-waterway blockade enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance.

The injured were sub-inspector Humayun Kabir, constables Elahi and Tariquzzaman and Mostafa, an employee of the election office.

MA Hashem, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the blockaders attacked and vandalised the election office in the town around 7:00pm, injuring the four.

They also exploded several crude bombs during the incident.

Police fired eight rounds of rubber bullet to bring the situation under control. -UNB, Magura
