Visiting UN Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Oscar Fernández Taranco will sit in a parley with Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad on Sunday morning. “The meeting is scheduled to be held at 11am tomorrow (Sunday),” said CEC’s personal secretary Mazharul Islam. Taranco will lead a five-member UN delegation to the meeting with the CEC at the latter’s office in the Election Commission Secretariat. At the meeting, the UN team is likely to discuss the arrangements for an inclusive general election and the ongoing political standoff in the country. – UNB
