Condemned Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah was learnt to have urged the activists of, what he called, Islamic movement to show restraint and not to involve in destructive activities out of vengeance.“I request the activists of Islamic movement to have patience and use my blood for establishing Islam without being destructive,” said a Jammat-e-Islami statement that quoted Mollah’s relatives who met him at the jail on Thursday evening.
Quader Mollah, however, accused the government of killing him illegally as he had led the Islamic movement, the statement added.
“The Islamic movement cannot be stopped by killing me. Rather it will be intensified to expedite the fall of the government,” the statement quoted Mollah as saying.
The Jamaat leader also conveyed his best wishes to the people and said he was not worried about his execution.
“I seek blessing from the people of the country. I pray that the Almighty will protect the Islamic movement, independence and sovereignty of the country in exchange of my life,” he observed.
Describing his execution as martyrdom, he said nothing can be better than that. – Staff Reporter
