A female college student was killed as a shallow engine-driven pickup van hit a rickshaw carrying her at a bus stand in the district town on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Rina Akhter Rini, 22, a second year student of Chemistry Department of Government Debendra University College and daughter of Abdul Jalil of Noyarchar village in Gheor upazila.
The victim’s brother, Shahadat Hossain, said the vehicle hit the rickshaw carrying Rini in front of the United Hospital on way to her College at about 11 am, killing her on the spot.
