Supporters of the proscribed Hizb-ut Tahrir have exploded bombs when police prevented them from taking out a procession at Segunbagicha in capital Dhaka. The supporters of the outfit while engaging in chase and counter chase with the law enforcers triggered the blasts, police said.Hizb-ut Tahrir supporters had tried to take out a procession from in front of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy after Jumma prayers on Friday afternoon.
After being dispersed by police, the supporters of the outfit took positions in nearby lanes and by-lanes and detonated some bombs.
The Hizb-ut Tahrir men though stayed off the main road, they engaged in chase and counter-chase with the police at various lanes and by-lanes, Shamim Ahmed.
