‘Khaleda leading minority attackers’ : Hasan

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is leading the communal forces that are carrying out the persecution of religious minorities in Bangladesh, Environment Minister Hasan Mahmud has claimed.

“Our ancestors who fought and freed the country wanted a non-communal Bangladesh,” he said at a programme on Saturday.
“It is highly unfortunate that communal forces, led by BNP chief Khaleda Zia, are still attacking the houses of religious minorities even 43 years after liberation.”
The programme, to commemorate the day Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had returned to Bangladesh in 1972, was organised at Dhaka Reporters Unity.
Supporters of Awami League and religious minorities were again targeted in Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Magura, Jamalpur, Joypurhat and Chittagong after the Jan 5 elections which were strongly resisted by the Opposition.
“These attacks not only pollute Bangladesh but the entire subcontinent.”
“They know there are more Muslims in India than in the whole of Pakistan. They know very well the persecution of religious minorities in Bangladesh also has an effect in neighbouring India.”-bdnews24.com
