AL starts selling nomination forms for women reserved seats

The ruling Awami League on Wednesday started selling nomination forms among the party aspirants against reserved seats for women in the 10th parliament.

On the first day, 210 contenders collected nomination forms to be elected MPs against the reserved seats on the ruling party tickets, Awami League deputy office secretary Mrinal Kanti Das told UNB.

He also said the aspirants will be able to collect and submit nomination forms by 6pm on January 17 from and at the Dhanmondi political office of the party president.

The interview of the candidates will be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence Ganobhaban from 3pm on January 19.

Sources at the Election Commission said it will start the process of election to the reserved seats for women after the re-voting in 392 polling stations of eight constituencies slated for Thursday.
