Two people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Satbaria in Hajiganj upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Sumon, 35, son of Nowab Ali of Tarpurchandi village, and Biplob Pal, son of Prakash Pal of Palpara of Sadar upazila. Shah Alam, officer-in-charge of Hajiganj Police Station, said the accident took place in the area at about 12:30 pm when a Chandpur-bound bus and Hajiganj-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on, leaving two passengers of the auto-rickshaw dead on the spot and three others injured. One of the injured was admitted to Chandpur General Hospital in critical condition while the rest two to the upazila health complex. Police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Chandpur
