At least 86 people were held and 99 others injured during the countrywide dawn-dusk hartal, called by Shibir and BNP-led 18-party alliance on Tuesday.Banglanews Correspondent reports, police picked up two activists when Mahila Dal took out a procession in support of the hartal in city’s Mugda area around 8am.
Meanwhile, police held a Shibir cadre while he was trying to explode a cocktail in Jatrabari Dholaipar area in the morning.
Besides, police held a suspicious man while hartal supporters exploded cocktail in city’s Naya Paltan around 12:30pm.
On the other hand, cops held a bomb maker with fresh bombs and bomb making equipment from Shyampur area in city.
In Gazipur: 20 people were held from six Thanas of the district during the hartal hours.
On the other hand, cops held 19 leaders and activists of Jamaat, including its Kaliakoir upazila secretary while taking preparation of subversive acts in the morning.
In Narayanganj: Some 15 people were injured, six by bullet in a clash between BNP men and cops in the district town in morning.
On the other hand, five people were injured, a picketer by bullet during a chase and counter chase between with the cops in sadar upzila.
Meanwhile, cops held 10 Juba Dal leaders and activists while they were trying to conduct subversive acts in Rupganj upazila.
In Sylhet: Seven picketers were injured while hartal supporters threw bricks and pebbles targeting Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Shahi Eidgah area around 6:30am.
In Pabna: Seven Shibir activists were held during the hartal in the district.
In Bagerhat: 15 people, including six cops were injured in a clash between Jamaat-Shbir men with the police in the district around 9am.
In Pirojpur: Five BNP activists were held in the district during the hartal.
In Dinajpur: Some 15 people, including cops were injured in a clash between Shibir and police in Hazirmor area under Chirirbandar upazila around 11:30am.
In Savar: Police held a picketer with patrol while he was trying to torch a vehicle along with others in Savar Bazar bus stand area in the morning.
In Comilla: Some 10 people were injured and 14 others held.
On the other hand, four were injured during chase and counter chase between the law enforcers and hartal supporters in Iliatganj upazila around 6:30am.
Besides, five people were injured in a clash between Jamaat-Shibir men and police in Shaheednagar area around 10:45am.
In Khulna: Police held a class VIII student during a chase and counter chase between picketers and cops in PTI crossing around 10am.
In Chandpur: A person was held while picketing in the district.
In Naogaon: Cops held a man while picketing around 10am.
In Tangail: Law enforcers held two leaders of district Chattra Dal while picketing in Ashekpur area.
In Lalmonirhat: Some eight people, including cop were injured in the district during hartal hours.
In Joypurhat: More Than 15 people injured in a clash between ruling Awami League and BNP during hartal hours.
However, BNP claimed that at least two people were killed, 382 injured and 206 were held during the nationwide dawn-to-dusk hartal.
