Khoka slates MKA for ‘mindless remarks, misdeeds’

Vilifying Home Minister MK Alamgir as a ghost of Pakistan generals Yahia Khan, Tikka Khan, BNP vice chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka on Saturday said he needs to be crushed on the streets for his misdeeds and mindless remarks.“MK Alamgir has now reappeared in Bangladesh as the evil spirit of Yahia-Tikka Khan who had carried out atrocities in Bangladesh during the Liberation War. This evil ghost needs to be stampeded on the streets through the ouster of this government,” he told a rally.

“Because, such evil force and anti-people person can’t be forgiven,” Khoka, also BNP’s Dhaka city unit convener, further said in support of his contention.

He was addressing a protest rally in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office in the afternoon arranged by 18-party opposition alliance to press home its various demands, including the restoration of the caretaker government system and the release of top BNP leaders.

Referring to the Home Minister’s remarks that Savar multi-storey Rana Plaza might have collapsed with jerking of its pillars by some pro-hartal opposition activists, the BNP leader said he has ridiculed the deaths of common people in the tragic incident.

Even Awami League leaders strongly criticised Alamgir calling him a mad man for his unguarded remarks, Khoka said, “It’s not enough to brand him as a mad-chap. Appropriate masseurs will be taken against him for his misdeeds if the 18-party alliance returns to power.”

He also lambasted the home minister for asking police to fire at sight the hartal activists saying police started killing people openly after his order.

The ruling Awami League alliance is out to hold a lopsided next general election being isolated from people, Khoka said, adding that a strong movement must be waged together with youths so that the anti-people forces do not dare to hang onto power.

Criticising the government for arresting the top BNP leaders, including its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the BNP vice-chairman said the oust-government movement cannot be resisted even after putting all BNP leaders into jail.

“We’ll make the movement a success at any cost. We’re ready for any sacrifice and even to accept the same fate of Ilias Ali who had been made disappeared.”UNB
