Abducted couple rescued in Magura, 3 held

Magura, Dec 14 – Police rescued a couple from Elengkhali village in Mohammadpur Upazila of Magura district on Wednesday night a day after their abduction from Elengkhali Bridge area.The rescued were identified as Manna Molla, son of Motiar Molla and his wife Julekha Begum, residents of Nityanandapur village of the Upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Tarikul Islam of Mohammadpur Police Station said a gang of miscreants adducted the couple while they were returning home from Dhaka on Tuesday night.
After the abduction, abductors demanded a huge amount of money as ransom from Manna’s brother.
According to demand for abductors, Manna’s brother along with police went to Elengkhali Bridge to hand over ransom money to the abductors last night and arrested one of them.
According to his statement, police, later, rescued the couple and arrested two more abductors.
The three abductors were Murad Hossian, 30, Sohag, 25, and Iqbal Hossian, 22.
A case was filed. – UNB
