A polytechnic institute student, who had been kidnapped from Baroghoria area of sadar upazila on Tuesday, was rescued from the bank of the Mahananda River in the upazila on Wednesday night.The rescued, Sakil Sarker, 16, is a 1st year student of Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute.Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a raid on a mess in
the area and rescued Sakil around 8.00pm.RAB also arrested his friend Fazle Rabbi, 17, for his involvement in the abduction.Rabby abducted Sakil on Tuesdayafternoon.
He later contacted the victim’s parents over the mobile phone and demanded Tk 2 lakh as ransom for his release.Sakil’s family members informed this to RAB.Later RAB confirmed the location of the victim and abductors through mobile phone tracking and rescued Sakil and arrested Rabbi. -UNB, Chapainawabganj
