Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 17 people while they were going to India illegally through Putkhali border here on Wednesday night.
Tipped off, a team of the border force launched a drive in the frontier area and arrested the 17 people, including six women and eight children, said Subedar Abdul Haque of Putkhali BGB-23.The human traffickers, however, fled the scene sensing the presence of the members of BGB.The arrestees hail from different areas of Sadar upazila in Natore district.They were going to India in search of jobs.Later, BGB troops handed over them to Benapole Port Police Station.A case was filed. -UNB, Benapole
