Abducted schoolgirl rescued in Sylhet

Police rescued a schoolgirl from Kamalbazar Dhargaon in Dakkhin Surma
upazila early Friday, eight days after her abduction from Nandirgaon
village under Jalalabad thana of the city.
The law enforcers also arrested Abdul Bashir,30, son of Abdul Jabbar
of the village, and Sayedul alias Sayed, 30, son of late Turab Ali of
Kalirgaon village of same thana, in connection with the abduction.
Police said Bashir, Sayedul and their associates picked up the girl
when she had gone out of her room to respond to call of nature on the
night of June 11.
The kidnappers took the girl to Bashir’s uncle’s house at Jawabazar in
Chhatak upazila and raped her there in a group.
After six days, the abductors shifted the girl to another house at
Kamalbazar Dhargaon village in Dakkhin Surma upazila.
The victims’ maternal uncle filed a case against them with Jalalabad
Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Later, police rescued the girl from the house and arrested Bashir and
Sayedul early Friday.
The girl was admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital with severe injuries.
