ACC frames charge against BNP’s Hafiz Ibrahim

Barisal Divisional special judge court on Sunday framed charges
against Hafiz Ibrahim,  BNP central committee member, former lawmaker,
Rupali Bank Director and SM Gaznavi, principal of Hafiz Ibrahim
College and former Borhanuddin upazila BNP secretary, in the case
lodged by Anti Corruption Commission  for misappropriating relief
items.
The court acquitted charges against former BNP lawmaker and state
minister for religious affairs as he died before the charge framing
date.
Muhammad Sharfuddin Azad, judge of the court passed the order in
presence of the two accused and extended their bail granted by higher
court.
Court sources said police of Borhanuddin police station under Bhola
district on June 13, 2007 recovered huge corrugated tin from the Hafiz
Ibrahim College sanctioned to be distributed as relief items.
Upazila project implementation officer Zaki Uddin as complainant
lodged a case accusing college principal Gaznavi and founder Hafiz
Ibrahim for misappropriating relief items.
The case was transferred to ACC and ACC deputy director Sirajul Huq
after investigation filed the charge sheet against three accused
indicting former lawmaker and religious affairs state minister
Mosharraf Hossain Shahjahan and college founder Hafiz Ibrahim and
principal Gaznavi on January 18, 2009.
Some days after the filing charge sheet one of the accused Mosharraf
Hossain Shahjahan was died. -Our Correspondent.
