AL, BNP delegation off to UK to attend seminar

Two delegations of Awami League and BNP left here on Saturday for the UK to attend a seminar there on Bangladesh’s current situation. A five-member Awami League delegation, led by Prime Minister’s adviser HT Imam, and another five-member BNP delegation, led by its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, will participate in the seminar scheduled to be held at the House of Lords on July 19. The other members of AL delegation are PM’s adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman, state ministers Tarana Halim, and Narayan Chandra Chanda and party leader Dipankar Talukder. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.

The other BNP delegation members are party chairperson’s advisers Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Sabihuddin Ahmed, assistant law affairs secretary Netai Roy Chowdhury and Barrister Ruhin Farhana, who is already there in the UK, said BNP chief’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan. Sources at the AL and BNP said both the delegation members will talk about various issue, including Bangladesh’s current political situation, human rights, recent terror attacks and militancy, at the seminar.
