Dhaka – A local leader of ruling Awami League, Ulipur upazila unit of the district, was reportedly attacked by his rival group over a factional dispute at zila parishad office in the upazila on Friday night.President of AL Ulipur upazila unit Moti Sheuli claimed that a faction of AL attacked his car with stones and sticks when he boarded the car just after concluding the extended meeting of the party over forming a fresh Juba League committee at Kurigram zila parishad office in the afternoon.“They also used abusive and vulgar words and vandalized my car”, he said.Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station SM Abdus Sobhan confirmed the matter and said that the situation was under control.No case was filed over the attack, he added.UNB news agency
