A local Awami League (AL) leader was chopped to death by miscreants at Radhanagar in Sreepur upazila on Tuesday night.The deceased was identified as Pratap Saha, 50, AL president of Kadirpara union unit in the upazila.Aowlad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station, said a group of miscreants attacked Pratap and chopped him indiscriminately in the area at about 9:00 pm when he was returning home at Kadirpara village after the end of the party activities, leaving him severely injured.Locals rushed him to Magura Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Magura
