Unidentified miscreants hacked to death a union-level leader of the ruling party Awami
League (AL) in Harispur beel (water body) area of Sadar upazila on Monday night.
The deceased, identified as Robiul Islam, was general secretary of Shibpur union unit AL
of the upazila, and son of Rajob Ali of Tetultala village.
Sardar Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Satkhira detective branch of police, said
unidentified miscreants killed Robiul by hacking indiscriminately around 10:30pm while
he was on the way home from Porandah Bazar on motorcycle.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the district hospital morgue for
autopsy.
Police picked up three people, including a woman, for interrogation and recovered a
