AL leader stabbed in Netrokona

A  ruling Awami League leader was stabbed by ‘miscreants’ at his own home in Netrokona’s Madan Upazila early on Wednesday.Critically injured Asaduzzaman Kachu, a Freedom Fighter and Kaitail Union Awami League chief, was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Madan Police Station Sub Inspector Swapan Kumar Sarker told bdnews24.com that five or six miscreants barged into the residence of Kachu and stabbed him around 4:30am.
“We think the plan was to kill him,” the police official said.
The official, however, did not elaborate as to who would intent to kill the Awami League leader and what could be their motive.
Kachu was first taken to Madan Upazila Health Complex. Doctor Aslam Al Razi told bdnews24.com the victim had stab injuries in his back.
As he was bleeding profusely, Kachu was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital around 8:30am.

At least two Awami League supporters have been killed in the last 24 hours in two different parts of the country.
An activist of the ruling party was stabbed to death in Jhenaidah’s Kaliganj Upazila around 10:00pm on Tuesday.
Then in the capital, another supporter succumbed to his injuries after being thrown off from a speeding microbus in Dainik Bangla intersection around 10:30pm.
