AL starts selling nomination papers on Friday

Dhaka, Nov 8 – The ruling Awami League would start selling its nomination forms for upcoming 11th parliamentary elections from today (Friday).
The aspirant leaders can collect their nomination papers from the party president Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office, from 10 am today. Earlier, through a party press release, the ruling Awami League announced that the aspirant candidates for contesting the upcoming national polls can collect their nomination forms from Friday morning. This time the price of the nomination form of the ruling party has been fixed thirty thousand taka only.
Aspirant candidates can collect their nomination papers from eight booths will be erected at the new Bhaban of Dhanmondi political office.
However, the Awami League Parliamentary Board (ALPB) will give the nomination to the party’s competent and popular after holding a meeting with the party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
After the meeting, the nomination board will announce the names of competent candidates for contesting the 11th parliamentary elections.
Party insiders said the ALPB meeting might be held in the middle of the month at the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Gono Bhaban.
However, near 10-15 leaders are likely to collect nomination forms from each parliamentary constituency. Meanwhile, the AL high-ups have decided to ensure single candidate at any cost for the national polls.
If anyone contests the next polls as rebel candidate, will be sacked from the party instant, party insiders said. – Staff Reporter
