Allegation of sexual harassment against Sub-Inspector (SI) Ratan Kumar Howlader of capital’s Adabor Police Station has been found true on Wednesday afternoon.The judicial probe report about the offence, was sent to Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-4 of Dhaka from the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Wednesday, while judge of the tribunal Saleh Uddin Ahmed fixed February 16 to take the report into cognizance after hearing. .
The investigation report said SI Ratan Kumar Howlader took ASA University student into a shop in capital’s Japan Garden City in Shekerteck and searched her jacket and handbag. Earlier, he asked the shop owner to leave the spot. Later, Ratan sexually harassed the girl student in the name of searching for Yaba tablets.
The incident took place on January 31 and the following day, the girl’s husband filed the case with the tribunal.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Emdadul Hoque recorded the deposition of five witnesses including, her husband and her mother on Tuesday.
