Dhaka, Jul 28 – Police arrested another mastermind of Gulshan Café attack from Singra Upazila of Natore district early Friday.Tipped off, a special team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Lawful Interception Cell (LIC) of police headquarters, Bogra and Natore police conducted a joint drive at Singra bus stand in Natore around 5:30 am and arrested Rashed alias Rash alias Abu Jarra, 24.
“Jarra was taken to Dhaka,” Bogra police super Asaduz Zaman told UNB confirming the arrest.
Gunmen attacked the Holey Artisan Bakery at Gulshan diplomatic zone in the city on July 1, 2016, and killed 20 hostages, mostly foreign nationals.
Two police officials were also killed during the 12-hour hostage crisis. – UNB
