Dhaka -A young man was beaten to death allegedly by a mob at Bottoli area of the upazila on Saturday.The deceased was identified as Alamgir, 30, hailing from Lakhai area in Habiganj district. Obaidul Islam, sub-inspector of Keraniganj Model Police Station said Taranagar union parishad chairman Faruque Ahmed convened an arbitration meeting at the union parishad premises on Saturday over the second marriage of Alamgir recently.With the cards stacked against him, Alamgir was mercilessly beaten by the arbiters in front of Faruque Ahmed, suffering critical injuries in the process.Later they took him to Upazila Health Complex, where doctord declare him dead, the SI added.On information police recovered the body from the health complex around 8pm.UNB news agency
