The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Tuesday) issued arrest warrant against Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, President of BNP’s youth wing Jubo Dal, in a case lodged with Ramna Model Police Station for obstructing police from performing their duties.Magistrate Md Aminul Hoque issued the warrant rejecting Alal’s bail plea in the case. Earlier in the morning, Alal’s lawyer Taherul Islam Touhid submitted a time petition to the court mentioning that the Jubo Dal leader could not appear to the court due to his illness. However, steps were not taken to move the petition.
The case was filed against Alal and four others for allegedly hurling crude bombs in front of the residence of the then Chief Justice at Hare road of the capital in 2010. – Special Correspondent
