A three-member delegation of Associated British Food, led by its Company Secretary and Legal Affairs Director Paul Lister, met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at office on Tuesday. The other delegation members were Katharene Stewart and Jevier Chercoles of Associated British Food. Prof Dr Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain, Founder Director of the DU Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies, and Dr Mahbuba Nasreen, Director and Professor of the institute were also present on the occasion. During the meeting, the both sides discussed disaster management of different countries of the world, particularly regarding disaster and post-disaster management of Rana Plaza victims of Bangladesh. The delegation members praised the performance of volunteer services rendered by the Dhaka University students during the Rana Plaza disaster. They also mentioned that the students are providing mental counselling to the victims to gain mental strengths. – UNB
