Auto-rickshaw owners have called off their 72-hour strike that was to begin on Tuesday.
The announcement came after Communications Minister Obaidul Quader assured them that their five-point charter of demands would be met.They met the minister on Monday afternoon.
The owners’ group, ‘CNG Auto-rickshaw Malik Samiti Oikyo Parishad’ said in a statement that they are not going ahead with the proposed strike.
“The strike will be enforced from April 15, if our five-point demand is not met in the next ten days,” reads the statement signed by the group’s Member Secretary ATM Nazmul Hassan. – UNB
