President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh Prof Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Sunday condemned the government for obstructing the peaceful programme of the BNP-led 18-party alliance.In a statement on Sunday, the former President demanded the government to resign and take steps to hold the general election under the caretaker government.
The world people observed methodology the government to foil the opposition’s march programme and became astonished thinking the future of our democracy. The government set a necked example by misusing the democratic manner, said the statement.
The BDB leader accused the government of misusing the army for which the country feels proud.
He reminded that no government is a permanent one and said the present government has also to quit power once.
B Chowdhury also condemned the misbahaviour to lawyers, journalists, common people and party activists and said he has no language to condemn it.
He termed confinement of the home of opposition leader by keeping sand laden five trucks on way to her residence as a necked and mean-minded act.
The BDB leader said curtailing of privilege of opposition leader is condemnable and anti-constitutional.
“Being a former President and senior citizen of the country, I urge the prime minister to refrain from such behaviour in future,” he added. – Staff Reporter
