Popular singers Bappa Mazumdar and Dinat Jahan Munni will now sing to the words of poet Shahid Rahman. The song has been composed by Uday Bandyopadhyay of India. This song titled “Bijoy Bolte Sholoi Dicember, Bijoy Maane Unissho Ekattor” will not be a modern score as is known to be the area of expertise for Bappa and Munni. Rather it would have flavours of the country. The patriotic song will be released on the occasion of the Victory Day by audi recording house Agnibeena. A music video of the song has also been completed which is slated for telecast across satellite channels from Victory Day.
Apart from focusing on the final victory in the Liberation War in 1971 the song also sheds light on the Language Movement, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s role in the liberation, the achievements of the present government etc.
Bappa reflected on his feelings about the song saying, “Patriotism lives within us in all the months of a year. But as we achieved victory on this very month, patriotism gets a new strength and thus it feels great to present such a wonderful song on the occasion of Victory Day.”
Munni said, “Shahid’s song relates to a lot about the Liberation War and Bangabandhu. That is why I have tried to give my best shot.”
