BAU observes Animal Husbandry Day

Mymensingh, March 14 – Students and teachers of animal husbandry faculty of the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) observed Animal Husbandry Day on the campus on Wednesday.To observe the day, at around 10:30am a colorful rally was brought out in front of the faculty which ended at the Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Auditorium after parading main streets on the campus. Later, a discussion program was held in the auditorium.
In the discussion program, BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ali Akbar addressed the discussion as chief guest with dean of the faculty Prof Dr Md Ashraf Ali in chair while Pro-VC Prof Dr Jasimuddin Khan, President of Bangladesh Animal Husbandry Association (BAHA) Syed Sakhawat Hossain as a special guest. Prof Dr Md Nojmul Ahsan presented keynote speaker.
BAU VC said that, though Bangladesh fulfilling the demand of rice production but cannot meet the demand of milk, meat and egg. The animal husbandry graduates have the potentiality to bring enormous development in the livestock sector of the country. – BAU Correspondent
