BAU observes Martyred intellectuals’ Day

Mymensingh, Dec 14 – The Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) observed Martyred Intellectuals’ Day with tribute and honour by paying floral wreaths at ‘‘intellectual martyrs’ monument’’ of the university. The program began with hoisting the national flag at half-mast atop of the different academic buildings and residential student halls.
Teachers, students and officials of BAU brought out a mourning rally from ‘Baishakhi Chattar’ which ended at intellectual martyrs’ monument.
BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ali Akbar paid homage to the martyred intellectuals placing floral wreaths at genocide plaque. After that different political, social and cultural organizations of the university paid tribute to the glorious sons of the soil by placing floral wreaths there. People stood there in solemn silence and prayed for the peace of the retarded souls of the intellectuals.
Later, a discussion meeting titled ‘The significance of Intellectual Martyred Day’ was held at University Community Center.
