United Front road march to Mymensingh Saturday seeking vote

Dhaka, Dec 14 – As part of electioneering, opposition alliance Jatiya Oikya Front (United Front) will launch a road march towards Mymensingh today seeking votes for the sheaf of paddy, the poll symbol of the alliance candidates. Top Oikya Front leader Dr Kamal Hossain will lead the road march which will begin from Tongi at 22:00 pm confirmed BNP chairperson’s media wing officer Shairul Kabir Khan.
He said senior Oikyafront leaders including BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan will join the road march which will begin from in front of Shafiuddin Academy in Tongi.
The central leaders of Oikyafront will addresses at street rallies on their way to Mymensingh in favour of the alliance candidates.
Jatiya Oikyafront media wing chief Dr Mehedi Masud said the first street rally would be held at Joydebpur in Gazipur while the leaders will also address street rallies at different places including Trishal on their way to Mymensingh.
He said the Oikyafront will determine its next course of action after disclosing its poll manifesto from Hotel Purbani at 11:00 am on Monday.
Earlier at a press conference Nagorik Oikya convenor, Mahmudur Rahman Manna said they have decided to launch road march to Mymensingh for Saturday.
He said the Oikyafront will also bring out Victory Day rally on December 16 to mark the Victory Day.
Top Oikyafront leaders- Dr Kamal Hossain, ASM Abdur Rab, Nazrul Islam Khan, Subrata Chowdhury, Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, among others, were present at the press conference.
Earlier, the Jatiya Oikyafront formally kicked off the electioneering from Sylhet after paying visits to the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal ® and Hazrat Shah Poran ® and Bangabir General Muhammad Ataul Gani Osmani on Wednesday. – Staff Reporter
