The teachers of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Monday formed a human chain protesting the murder of a teacher of Rajshahi University (RU).
In the protesting programmes, they demanded immediate arrest and capital punishment of the killers.BAU Teachers Association (BAUTA) organized the human chain in front of central library building on the campus at around 12:30 pm.
BAUTA President Prof Dr Md Solaiman Ali Fakir, General Secretary Prof Dr Md Abul Hashem, among others, spoke in the programme.
The speakers, in their speeches, said such kind of crimes would happen consecutively if the culprits are not given capital punishment.
They urged the government to ensure exemplary punishment finding out the criminals immediately.
Mentionable, Rejaul Karim Siddiqui, Professor of English Department of RU, was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants near his residence at Shalbagan area in Rajshahi city on Saturday morning. – BAU Correspondent:
