BCB happy with security plan for Sri Lanka tour

Dhaka – Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is happy with the security plan that was provided by the Sri Lankan Cricket Board for Bangladesh’s upcoming tour to play three-match one-day international series.

The series was uncertain following a terror attack on the island nation in April which left more than 300 people dead.

All the three matches will be played at R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. The first match of the series will be held on July 26 while the remaining ones on July 28 and 31. The Bangladesh cricket team will fly for Sri Lanka on July 23.

BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury on Monday said: “After receiving a positive result from our security specialist, who visited Sri Lanka recently, we’ve decided to continue with the Sri Lanka tour. We’re happy with the security plan.”

The Tigers returned home on Sunday after their poor show in the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup in England and Wales. They finished at number eight in the 10-team global event.UNB
