BCB suspends Ashraful from all forms of cricket

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to keep Mohammad Ashraful away from all forms of cricket as he confessed to the BCB president about his involvement in the match/spot fixing. The final decision about his cricketing career will come after the ICC’s Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) delivers its final report within 5-6 days.
BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon stated this at a press conference at the BCB office in Mirpur on Tuesday afternoon.
He, however, said strict punishment awaits anyone to be found guilty by the ACSU investigation. “No one will be spared.”
Papon said: “We’re not a position now to say more as ACSU has said it would reveal its probe report within 5/6 days, I assume it won’t take more than seven days.”
“We should not draw any conclusion now since an allegation might be raised against anyone… if we comment about anyone who is not actually involved in fixing will be socially humiliated.”
The BCB boss said: “But I can say, it (fixing) is not limited within the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) matches… some ICC matches are under our suspicion.”
He said the ICC will conduct detailed investigation on their own into the international matches flawed by match/spot fixing allegations, he said.
The final probe report will be disclosed before media by a joint delegation of ICC and BCB, he added. (Source: UNB)
