An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was injured in an attack by some
miscreants on the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus on
Friday night.
The victim was identified as Ruhul Amin, an activist of SUST unit Chhatra League and a
master’s student of the English Department.
Witnesses said a group of masked miscreants numbering 8 to10 swooped on Ruhul Amin
and stabbed him indiscriminately at about 8:30 pm, leaving him severely injured.
Police visited the spot.
“Shibir men might have launched the attack on me,” Nayan, sub-inspector of Jalalabad
Police Station, quoted the victim as saying. –UNB, Sylhet
Barisal Sadar BNP leader Shamim dies of heart attack

Kotwali BNP died of sudden heart attack on Friday noon.
Family sources said feeling severe chest pain he was rushed to Barisal Sher E Bangla
Medical College Hospital and died their at about 1:35 pm.
Shamim was 45 and left wife, one daughter, a lot of relatives, well wishers and followers
to mourn his death.
His body would be kept at party office on Saturday morning and after Namaj-e-Janaza
in front of Ashwini Kumar Hall would be taken to his native home at Shayestabad
union and holding second Namaj-e-Janaja there he would be buried at family graveyard
Saturday afternoon.
Local lawmaker, city BNP president Advocate Mojibor Rahman Sarwar, leaders of BNP
and front organisations expressed their condolence and visited grieved family members.
