Moulana Zafarullah Khan, chief of Khelafat Andolan and chairman of United Islami Oikya Jote on Tuesday expressed his concern over the drug menace and militancy at national and international levels and called for united efforts of all to face those.
Addressing an iftar mohfil of his party at Purana Paltan he said Islan was totally against drug addiction and killing of people innocent people on any plea.
He said that the attacks on churches and hotels in retaliation attack on Christchurch mosques in New Zealand were unacceptable according to the principles of Islam which consider even suicide a great sin. He said the activities being carried out in the name of Islam were nothing but conspiracies against the religion with a view to defaming it.
Some international conspirators want to create a terrorist image of Islam for securing their own safety. Moulana Zafarullah Khan said that the ulema can give the correct sense of direction to steer clear of the crises and called for taking their considered opinions to face the twin problem.
Presided over by Moulana Mohammad Hossain Akond, president, Dhaka city unit of the Party the iftar mohfil was also addressed by party leaders Moulana Abu Zafor Kasemi, Moulana Abul Kashem, Moulana Bazlur Rahman, United IOJ leaders including Alamgir Majumder. – Press release
