Chief Justice SK Sinha has asked for taking necessary steps to beef up security in all the courts across the country. As per as the directives of the Chief Justice, the Supreme Court administration issued an office order in this regard on Thursday. Copies of the SC office order, signed by High Court Division registrar Abu Syed Diljar Hossain, were sent to the Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), police commissioners of all divisions and all police supers. The order reads: “The Chief Justice is deeply worried over the security of subordinate court judges, employees and others concerned following the recent terrorist acts.” Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.
The directives came against the backdrop of recent terror attacks on a Spanish restaurant at Gulshan of the capital and police at Sholakia of Kishoreganj. Twenty-two civilians, including nine Italians, seven Japanese, one Indian national and two police officials, and two policemen were killed as terrorists attacked Holey Artisan Bakery at the city’s Gulshan diplomatic zone on July 1.On July 7, terrorists attacked a police check-post near Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj only minutes before the Eid prayers, killing two policemen and a housewife.
