After more than a month Bangladeshi film theatres have got two new films. While Poramon-2 is continuing to draw attention in halls Indian film with Jaaz Multmedia- Sultan: The Saviour has been released. Starring Tollywood star Jeet and Dhallywood actress Bidya Sinha Meem the film opened in one hundred and eighteen halls yesterday.As opposed to that the second film, a Bangladeshi production named Bengali Beauty has been released in Blockbuster Cinemas in Jamuna Future Park in the capital. From next week the makers are hoping to extend the number of halls roping in Star Cineplex, Balaka Cineworld etc. The film has been directed by US based Rahsaan Noor. He has also acted as the lead actor in the film opposite Mumtaheena Toya. Toya the famed actress of small screen marks her movie debut with Bengali Beauty.
Before Bangladesh the film was released in US. On February 16 the film was released across ten American cities and according to Rahsaan grabbed five crore taka. On August 10 the film will be released again in New York and also in Britain, France. American news channel, NBC has dubbed the film captivating while Urban Asian calls it a joyful revolution.
The film is based on the tumultuous political environment pervading from 1972-75 in the country. In those times a DJ, Rahsaan and a medical college student Toya fall in love. The film has lavish, light entertainment fused with a social message. Toya feels proud to have started her big screen career with such a film.
