Indian BJP chief Amit Shah enquires about Khaleda’s health

President of Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Shah has enquired the health condition of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia over telephone.
Briefing reporters BNP chairperson’s press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel yesterday said Amit Shah made a telephone call to Khaleda Zia at about 10:30pm on Wednesday to enquire the health condition of the former premier, who fell sick after pepper spray by police on January 5.
He said the BJP leader wished the early recovery of Khaleda Zia.Sohel, who briefed some journalists at BNP chairperson’s confined office, said the former premier thanked the BJP chief for making the telephone call and enquiring about her health .
Journalists were allowed to enter the office to attend the briefing for the first time after January 5 police action.
He said many people from home and abroad enquired about her health over telephone and they expressed their concern over pepper spray by police to the BNP chairperson.
Replying to a question, he said the health condition of Khaleda Zia is improving.
BNP vice chairman Selima Rahman, chairperon’s adviser Abdul Quayum, special assistant Shimul Biswas, Mahbub Al Amin Deu, Shirin Sultana, Bilkis Islam, among others, were present. – Staff Reporter
