BNP demand resignation of two convicted ministers

A senior BNP leader yesterday demanded the government to immediately drop its two ministers from the cabinet for their conviction on charge of contempt of court. “The ministership of Food Minister Qamrul Islam and Liberation War affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haq should have gone soon after they were convicted for contempt of court but it is not done,” said BNP vice chairman Shah Moazzem Hossain while addressing a discussion meeting at the Jatiya Press Club.
He said the two ministers should be dropped from the cabinet.

The elderly leader said the party chairperson would announce fresh course of action after formation of new central committees. He called upon the party rank and file to get ready for the movement to restore the independence and democracy of the country.
On cyber heist of Bangladesh Bank’s reserve money, he said it could not happen without cooperation by the government.
“The finance minister cannot shirk his responcibility and he should go away immediately,” he added.
Secchasebok Dal, a front organisaiton of BNP, organised the meeting to mark the Independence and National day.
Presided over by vice president Monir Hossain, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Abdus Salam Azad and Akhteruzzaman Bacchu.
Meanwhile, addressing a human chain programme, BNP vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman demanded the government to form a judicial commission to investigate into college student Tonu murder case.
He also demanded the government to resign immediately and hold the national election under a non-=partisan government.
Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, also a front organisaiton of the BNP, organised the human chain programme in front of the Jatiya Press Club. – Staff Reporter
