Bnp-led alliance organises sporadic demos across country

The BNP-led 20-party alliance on Monday staged scattered demonstrations at different parts of the country and Dhaka city, demanding snap polls under a non-party administration and protesting the ‘growing incidents of enforced disappearance and extrajudicial killing’.
Though the alliance activists staged demonstrations at different districts, they only took out some sudden processions at in different areas of the capital.In the city, the 20-party party men brought out processions in Moghbazar, Jatrabari, Mohammadpur, Kafrul, Demra, Dhaka Medical College, Nilkhet, Jurain, Doyaganj, Dhanmondi, Khilgaon and Badda areas.
According to reports reaching the UNB desk, the 20-party men also staged demonstrations in different district and upazilas, including Sylhet, Bogra, Munhsiganj, Thakurgaon, Barisal, Noakhali, Chittagong, Feni, Rajshahi and Comilla districts.
On Friday, BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed in a statement on behalf of the 20-party announced the countrywide demonstration programme alongside its ongoing transport blockade.
Meanwhile,Three people were injured in a mysterious explosion at a house in the city’s Gulshan area on Monday night.
Two of the injured were identified as Arman, 23, and Abrar, 24.
Inspector (Investigation) of Gulshan Police Station Firoz said the blast took place at the garret of a six-story building at Road-126 of Gulshan-2 around 8:54pm.
The reason behind the explosion could not be known yet, he said adding that a bomb disposal unit went to the spot to ascertain the reason.
The injured were taken to nearby United Hospital. – UNB
