A man was killed in an attack by miscreants in Cemetery Road area of
the city on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Delwar Hossain Dilu, 55, former
president of Dumuria unit BNP.
Witnesses said a group of miscreants swooped on Dilu and beat him with
hammer and sharp weapons in the area around 10:30am, leaving him
critically injured.
He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where attending
doctors pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian, Rizia Begum,55, died of heart attack after
witnessing the incident.
Police suspected that rivals of Dilu might have killed him following a
dispute over a house.
