BNP starts observing 4-day mourning for Hannan Shah

Dhaka: BNP on Tuesday announced a four-day mourning programme following the death of its standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah.
The party announced the programme at a press release signed by its assistant office secretary Taiful Islam Tipu. UNB News Agency Reported.
It said the party will observe the mourning programme from Tuesday to Friday by hoisting black flags and keeping the party flag at half-mast atop its offices across the country.
Besides, doa and milad mahfils will be held across the country on Friday seeking salvation of Hannan Shah’s departed soul.
Meanwhile, a condolence book was opened at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office today for party leaders and activists to express their shock until 5pm on Thursday.
Hannan Shah, who had been suffering from cardiovascular diseases, passed away at Raffles Heart Centre in Singapore early Tuesday.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, Liberal Democratic Party president Oli Ahmed and different parties and associate bodies of BNP expressed deep shock at his death.
