BNP to bring out processions with black flags Today

BNP will bring out processions with black flags across the country, except in Dhaka city, on Thursday marking the third anniversary of the 10th parliamentary elections as “democracy killing day.”The party leaders and activists will bring out the processions at all districts and upazilas wearing black badges on the day to mark their protest against the national election, boycotted by the BNP.
Besides, the party will hold a rally in the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan on 7 January, to register the party’s protest against the January-5 parliamentary elections.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a press conference held at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Wednesday said all-out preparation has been taken to observe the day with countrywide processions with black flags.
He said BNP leaders and activists will make the programme of processions with black flags and wearing black badges a success braving intimidation of the ruling party men across the country. “All preparations have been taken everywhere,” he added.
Rizvi said BNP has sent a letter to the authorities concerned seeking permission for the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on January 7. “We expect that the government will allow us to hold the peaceful rally on January 7,” he said.
