BNP to hold six rallies during Teesta protest

BNP will hold six rallies during its long march to the Teesta Barrage in Nilphamari on April 22-23 to press for Bangladesh’s fair share of waters of River Teesta.
BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programmes at a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office on Sunday.He said the long march will be led by the party’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. It is scheduled to start at 8am on Tuesday from outside BNP central office. T
he street corner rallies will be held at Kaliakair,Tangail, Kaddar intersection in Sirajganj and in Bogra on Tuesday.
After overnight stay in Rangpur, the party will hold a public rally there at 9am on Wednesday and then restart their long march towards Teesta Barrage.
The march will end after holding another public rally at Dalia areas of Nilphamari at 11am on Wednesday. – UNB
