BNP to stage demo on Wednesday in capital

Denied permission to hold a rally, BNP on Monday announced to stage demonstrations in all thanas of the capital on Wednesday.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.

He said they tried to hold a rally in front of their central office at 2pm today demanding the release of their chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail for ensuring her better treatment. “But, police didn’t give us permission to hold the rally at the behest of the government.”

The BNP leader alleged that the government is not allowing people to exercise their democratic rights as it is afraid of them.

They strongly condemned and protested the denial of permission to hold their rally.

Huge law enforcers have been deployed around BNP’s Nayapaltan central office since morning following the party’s announcement to hold a rally.
