BNP women leaders released after hiur-long detention

Police have released the women leaders of BNP an hour after detaining them in front of Khaleda Zia’s home. They were detained around 1.25 pm and taken to the Gulshan Police Station before they were released.Those detained were Vice Chairman Selima Rahman, MP Rasheda Begum Heera and ex-MP Newaz Halima. Gulshan Police Station OC Rafiqul Islam told Journalists around 3.15 pm that they have released the BNP leaders.
They had been whisked away in a white microbus from in front of Khaleda Zia’s house. The three reached Khaleda’s home on foot and asked the police to allow them to go inside.
