BNP’s black-flag protests today: Meeting with resigning ministers

The main opposition BNP will bring out a black-flag procession across

the country on today in protest against the cabinet meeting held with
ministers who have already resigned.
“We have information that the cabinet meeting was held on Sunday with
ministers and state ministers who have already resigned. Holding of
such a meeting is a clear violation of the country’s constitution,”
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed.
Terming the meeting as unconstitutional, he said, “We will bring out
black-flag processions across the country on Monday protesting the
government’s unconstitutional job, Rizvi has said.
Rizvi a joint secretary general of the party announced the programme
as a press briefing held at the party’ Naya Paltan central office in
the capital on Sunday.
The programme will be observed in all divisional and district level
headquarters including the capital Dhaka, Rizvi also office secretary
of the party said.
He, however, did not clear that from where the procession will be
bought out in the capital. Leaders and activists of the party have
been asked to bring out the procession following them own tactics, he
added.
It may be pointed out that around two-and-a half-hour cabinet meeting
was held on Sunday at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Ministers and state ministers submitted their resignations to the
Prime Minister at the last Cabinet meeting held on November 11.
He said the ruling Awami League has become isolated from mass people
and so it has plunged into unconstitutional and anti-people activities
to hang on to power through illegal means.
Rizvi blamed the government for confining him in the party office and
not allowing any of the party leaders and activists to enter there.
He urged the members of different law enforcement agencies to withdraw
their siege immediately so that the party leaders and activists can
enter their party office.
He also accused the law enforcers of their raid launched at the houses
of opposition party men including Swechchasebak Dal President
Habibunnabi Sohel and Jubo Dala north unit president Mamun Hashan. –
