Board for autopsy on Matuail skeletons

A board has been formed to autopsy the skeletons found discarded in a sack in the waste pile of capital’s Matuail a couple of days ago.
Assistant Professor Maksudur Rahman for Sir Salimullah College Forensic Division will be leading the board.
Forensic Division’s Dr Hasna Hossain Ankhi, Dr Krishna Chandra Kundu of Anatomy and Nazmul Haque are the other members of the board, he said.
When asked why an expert of anatomy was on the board, Rahman said it was because the Investigating Officer of the case had focused his inquiries on a wide range of matters. For example, how old the bones are, gender identification and which part of the human body they originate from.
“A doctor from anatomy will be part of this probe to answer these specific questions.”
City Corporation cleaners in the early hours of last Friday recovered a sack which had at least four skeletons cut into pieces from Matuail’s Mridhabarhi garbage dump.
It contained 16 pieces of bones from various parts of the human body, two skulls, seven leg bones, three hands and a rib cage. A total of 13 small pieces of bones were also found from the spot.
The Jatrabari police OC after the recovery had said, “The body parts in the plastic sack have mostly dried up. It looks like they were possibly killed at least a month ago.
“The sack with the body parts was thrown in the dumpster later.” – bdnews24.com
